In the early days of the pandemic last year, print providers were declared by the United States to be an Essential Service.
To be Essential meant that Two Ems, Inc. a local print provider for more than 40 years, could stay open to the public when retail stores were required to close for public health reasons. Two Ems, however, could not stay open then, because half of our customer service is the sale of stationery and greeting cards, a retail product. Since there is no way to divide the two elements of our business, we closed until Governor Lamont reopened business. Those closed months without sales, but with continuing machinery expenses and our rent payments, were difficult. I requested no governmental assistance; as I felt there were too many others in much worse situations.
As the national health condition slowly improves, Two Ems is anxious to provide Essential Print Services to our neighbors in Madison and in Connecticut shoreline towns. Our hours are still shortened, to protect our employees and our customers from virus distribution. We hope to adopt longer hours later this year.
As Essential Service Providers, Two Ems will be here for you to: provide locally designed and printed Wedding stationery suites – from Save the Dates to Personalized Thank You Notes.
We will be here to provide Business Printing for those of you that now are working from home. And, for those of you who have had time during the pandemic to write Your Own Book, we will help you produce it from editorial and design service all the way to binding and book registrations. Happy authors have trusted us with poetry, photographic, business and family history books at Two Ems.
Two Ems has been providing Your Own Book essential services for many years!
This photo shows two authors, Marion Darling and June Rice, Madison residents, with their stories turned into hard cover books with our help. (I won’t tell how long ago it was!)
Sincerely, Margaret M. Sprague, president
